International Student News

International Excursion to the Football
On 5 June, our international students joined local students for a very Melbourne experience: AFL at the MCG, complete with cheering crowds and traditional beef pies.
The group quickly mastered the essential viewing strategy: follow which half the ball is in, watch which way the players are running, and see which posts the ball goes through! They watched Hawthorn take on the Western Bulldogs in a dramatic match, with the Bulldogs coming from behind to win by six points.
It was a great reminder that in sport, as in life, it is never really over until the final siren. All students had a fantastic night, including our two youngest Year 8 students, and the match was still being discussed on social media afterwards. A very successful introduction to AFL!
Thank you to the local students who attended as tour guides to ensure our International students were able to learn as much about this very unique Australian game as possible!
Study Tour from China
Next term, McClelland College will be hosting 18 students from China who are visiting Australia as a part of a study tour.
The students will be staying with local families, and participating in school activities.
If you are interested in hosting a student, please contact Chenhao Cui at the front office.
