Term 2 - I CAN Mentor Program

This term a select number of Year 7 & 8 students have participated in an 8 week program with I CAN Mentors.  The program fosters positive relationships with others, builds communication and social skills and provides a safe and inclusive environment for students to be themselves.  I would like to thank not only the expectational I CAN Mentors - Alex and Bianca but two important staff members - Katie Bingham and Nicole Jeffries who have supported the students to attend and engage positively with the program.  

One of our students was able to participate in an I CAN talk - entirely voluntarily, which would have previously very difficult for them to do.  They spoke for approximately 5 minutes about their favourite K Pop group (Enhyphen). They had prepared a slideshow of visuals (labelled photos) and spoke freely (without referring to notes or slides) about the group, their 'lore', the plushie totems of each member, why they like them and various other snippets of information. They did a great job and, judging by the attached photo, enjoyed doing it!
