Important Information
Dear 1/2 Families,
What a busy and exciting Term 3 it has been! We are so proud of the learning, growth and confidence the students have shown throughout the term. The final few weeks have been particularly eventful, with Book Week, our Melbourne Zoo excursion and Footy Colours Day giving us plenty of special moments to enjoy. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement throughout the term. We really value the partnership between home and school and appreciate everything you do to support your child’s learning and wellbeing.
After such a busy term, everyone has certainly earned a well-deserved break! We hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with fun, family time and plenty of rest. Enjoy the break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 4!
Be Awesome Day:
Friday 30th October will be our annual ‘Be Awesome Day’! This year, our awesome kids will be running a ‘Show Day’ as part of our celebrations and we welcome you to join in the fun! To make our day as awesome and fun as possible, we will need lots of help from our wonderful parent community.
We would love donations of some of the following items. (You don’t need to donate to your child’s class necessarily, you’re welcome to donate to any of the classes listed below).
- 1/2 Edwards -Zooper Doopers
- 1/2 Rodda - No donations required
- 1/2 Gamble/Ingram - Donations of full-size chocolate bars and blocks of chocolate for our 'Lob-a-Choc' stall
- 1/2 Floyd - Prizes for 'Lucky Ducks', such as small lollies, small multipack chocolates, larger chocolates, small fidgets
- 1/2 McClellan- Materials for making bracelets such as 6mm plastic beads in a range of colours or alphabet and number beads, elastic jewellery cord, small snap lock bags
What we have been up to...
Upcoming Learning
Literacy
In the first two weeks of Term 4, we will be reading ‘Jetty Jumping’, ‘Magic Beach’ and 'Market Day'. For writing, we will continue working on recounts and will revisit persuasive texts.
Mathematics
In Mathematics, we will begin the term by investigation shapes.
Topic
Our unit next term is called 'Robot Buddies'. Students will focus on the skills of design and creativity. They will investigate the use of different materials and explore the idea of designing a robot to help solve a problem.
RRRR
Next term's Respectful Relationships topic is 'Problem Solving'. Students will focus on the size of different problems they might encounter and will participate in a range of games and activities which encourage problem solving skills and co-operation.
