Parents Want Children to Obey for Several Reasons

Religious Beliefs:

Many parents believe that obedience is a reflection of their child's relationship with God, as children are commanded to obey their parents "in the Lord" so that all may go well for them... Parents, do not frustrate your children (Ephesians 6:1-4).

Preparation for Life:

Obedience is seen as essential for preparing children for a successful and fruitful life, teaching them discipline and respect for authority.

Moral and Ethical Development:

Parents often view obedience as a way to instill moral values and ensure that children understand the importance of following rules and guidelines.
