Trusting and Following God’s Call

At Good News Lutheran College, we often speak about nurturing not just minds, but hearts—hearts that are open to God’s calling. One of the most challenging and yet deeply rewarding aspects of faith is trust: choosing to trust God’s direction, even when it doesn’t align with our own plans or understanding.

The Bible offers countless examples of faithful trust. Noah built an ark long before the first drop of rain. Abraham set off into the unknown, trusting that God would lead him. Mary accepted her role in God’s plan with the words, “I am the Lord’s servant.” These stories remind us that following our path is rarely about comfort or certainty—it’s about trust.

This message speaks clearly into the life of our College. Each day, our students are invited to courageously make choices that reflect integrity, grace, humility, and perseverance—even when those choices aren’t easy. Teachers model what it means to follow God's call in the way they teach, care, and serve. And as a school community, we seek to find how we are called to care for our resources and to remain faithful to our mission to serve others as we grow ourselves.

We may not always understand what lies ahead, but we can go forward with confidence, knowing God is guiding us – if we are prepared to listen. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Let us continue to walk together, trusting that God’s path—though sometimes unfamiliar—is always good.
