VCE Drama Excursion to Beetlejuice

On Tuesday 3 June evening, we had the pleasure of accompanying our VCE Drama students to the stunning Regent Theatre to see Beetlejuice the Musical.  From the moment we entered the iconic venue, the excitement was palpable – and the production certainly didn’t disappoint.

It was a thrill to experience the work of Melbourne’s own Eddie Perfect brought to life on such a grand scale.  His witty lyrics and bold musical score were a highlight, and the show’s inventive use of set, costume and lighting left a lasting impression.  

We were particularly impressed by the students’ engagement with the performance.  The use of symbolism, heightened characterisation and clever theatrical conventions sparked valuable discussion – and a few well-timed screams!  

It was a brilliant opportunity for students to witness professional theatre in action and gain fresh inspiration for their own performance work.
