Year 8 students are currently bringing their creativity to life through lino self-portraits. Using the grid method, the boys have been learning how to carefully draw the proportions of a face while developing their observational drawing skills. Each student has also designed a background that reflects something meaningful about their personality, interests or experiences.
After completing their drawings, the designs were transferred onto lino blocks. The class is now enjoying the hands-on process of carving their images and beginning the exciting stage of printing. It has been fantastic to see the students’ creativity and individuality come through in their work, and we look forward to seeing the final prints displayed.

Years 11 and 12 Visual Art in Practice students are currently developing their experimental artworks for the A1 Unit: Looking Inwards. This unit encourages students to explore their personal identity through art while experimenting with a range of techniques and media.
Throughout the unit, the boys are trialling different artistic processes and materials to discover new ways of expressing their ideas and perspectives. By reflecting on their own experiences, interests and personalities, students are creating meaningful artworks that offer a unique insight into who they are as individuals. It has been exciting to see their creativity and confidence grow as they explore new approaches and develop their artistic voice.
