Hello from 4G

What a fantastic start to the year we’ve had in 4G! Students have embraced new routines, expectations, and increased levels of responsibility and accountability with enthusiasm and confidence.

Each morning, our Morning Circle has been a valuable opportunity to settle into the day, listen to one another, share announcements or moments of pride, and reflect on our personal values and areas for growth. We’ve also enjoyed playing engaging games that bring smiles to our faces and help us feel ready for a positive day of learning.

4G has settled in beautifully as a class, supporting and encouraging one another in all areas. A particular highlight has been our class reward system; the WOW Board. Many students genuinely celebrate the achievements of their peers and take pride in recognising acts of kindness, effort, and success. We have filled the WOW board in record time, already celebrating four students who won prizes for their efforts!

During literacy, students have shared insightful ideas about our Term 1 class novel, The Arrival. Although it is a wordless novel, students analysed symbolism, imagery, and colour choices with impressive depth, turning pictures into powerful stories full of meaning and possibility. It has been a pleasure to witness how the students dive headfirst into topics and are willing to share their ideas.

In such a short time this year, students have demonstrated impressive flexibility, patience, and respect. With movement between Year 4 classrooms for Spelling Mastery and Maths groups, they have shown maturity and responsibility. No matter the teacher, topic, or learning space, students have settled quickly and remained focused on their work. This adaptability has been wonderful to see and reflects their growing independence and positive attitude towards learning.

It is shaping up to be a wonderful year ahead.
