Mini Fete Information

Wednesday 1st April      -     1pm - 3pm

How do I find my child?Gates will open at 12.45pm.  Parents and grandparents are to enter the school grounds and locate their child who will be sitting near their class stall.  You are welcome to get siblings and then wait together at one of the class groups until the fete begins.

Who can come to the

fete?

The fete is open to all our families. In fact, we are encouraging all our families to come along and support.  It would be great for P - 2 students to have a familiar adult to escort them around the stalls.

What if I can’t come at

all?

For our P-2 students we will have some staff that will take small groups of students around the fete if they don’t have an adult present.  You may organise another parent/friend to supervise your child at the fete.  If this is the case, please let your class teacher know.

Students in Year 3 - 6 will be able to move around the fete area with a buddy / small group of friends.

There will be plenty of staff out on the basketball courts and roaming around the stalls supervising the students.

How can I help on

fete day?

There are three mains ways that you can assist us in running a smooth fete…..Either coming along and supervising your child at the fete, helping out another parent that cannot attend by supervising their child too, AND / OR helping on the class stall by serving.

If you can help out in any way, can you please let your teacher know ASAP.

What stalls are there?

There is a full list of stalls over the page.   Each class is running a stall.   LPS staff, parent helpers and EMC students will be running the stalls.  All stalls will serve from 1pm - 3pm OR until sold out.
Which stalls can I go to when?Students and parents/grandparents are welcome to go to any stall in any order.  Most stalls will only have 1 or 2 adults serving, so there is likely to be a line up and a short wait.  We ask for you to wait orderly in 1 line and show patience as we serve people as quickly as we can.
How do the children pay for items?

There will be NO CASH on the day.  QKR will be open 2 weeks prior to the fete to allow parents/carers to pre-purchase tokens to be used at the fete.

$1.00 = 1 token.  All stalls will accept tokens only.

We are strongly encouraging the pre-purchase of tokens.  These will be given out by class teachers in named bags just prior to the fete beginning.

There will be no refunds for any unused tokens.

Please explain how the tokens work? You buy your child’s token via QKR prior to the fete.   Teachers give out tokens to students just prior to the fete starting in named snap lock bags.  Students use these to ‘buy’ at the stalls.  EG $1.00 = 1 token, $2.00 = 2 tokens etc

What if I run out of tokens?

There will be an option for adults only to purchase extra tokens via EFTPOS. However, we are strongly encouraging them to be pre-purchased to reduce waiting time.  Remember….  There is NO CASH at all on the day.

Can students leave early once they have spent their tokens or have had enough?

Any student leaving early needs to be signed out.   If students are leaving  between 1.00pm - 2.30pm they need to be signed out at the office by an adult and they will leave with NO school bag.

Students leaving between 2.30pm - 3.00pm need to have an adult see their class teacher (at their stall) and sign them out.   They will receive a ‘bag pass’ and can collect their bag from the CAPE centre via the back playground door.

Students that are still at school at 3.00pm, must stay until the 3.20pm bell.  There will be NO EARLY LEAVING between 3.00pm - 3.20pm.

Thanks for your understanding with this.

Any adults needing to use the toilet during the fete should head to the front office and use the bathroom located there.

An example:

Bobby’s mum has pre-purchased $20.00 on QKR for the fete. Bobby gets his bag from his teacher just before the fete starts.  Bobby really wants to buy 2 lucky jars so he heads there first, he also wants to have a go at the sponge throw.  His mum looks at the second hand uniform shop and chooses a t/shirt for Bobby for next year for school.  Bobby and his mum then go to the CAPE Centre to buy a hot dog.  They both then go to the Art room to make a bracelet each.

2 x lucky jars = $4.00

1 x sponge throw = $1.00

1 x school top = $5.00

1 x hot dog = $4.00

2 x bracelet = $6.00

Bobby has now spent his $20.00.  Mum wants to look at the grocery stall and sees a few things she wants to buy.

First mum needs to go to the token table to get some more tokens to use.  She lines up and pays with card…...getting $5.00 more tokens.  She then heads back to the grocery stall.

It’s now nearly 2.30pm and they want to leave. Bobby and his mum head to his class stall and see the teacher, the mum signs Bobby out and gets a ‘bag pass’ and heads to the CAPE back door.

They collect his school bag and leave to go home.
