2024 MESC SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Liz G - Year 12

This year’s swimming carnival was held on the perfect hot summer day. We were all grateful to have a swim to keep us nice and cool while our competitive spirit kept us motivated. We had so many amazing participants from all year levels, and it was wonderful to see everyone dressed proudly in their house colours. The 2024 champion was Kimmuli winning making it another great year for them. Thank you to everyone who attended it was wonderful to see you all there and we hope to see you all on athletics day!

The 2024 MESC swimming carnival was another successful outing at the Doveton Swimming pool with Kimmuli taking the honours as victors for another year. The Melbourne weather had turned up the heat for the day which saw many zooper doopers flying around keeping all students and staff satisfied. More importantly, the day provided many terrific swimming efforts by all the students that jumped in and contributed points to their devoted houses. Swimmers who performed well will now be selected to represent the college in our Southern Peninsula Division swimming carnival that will be happening on Thursday the 29th of March at the Pines Public Swimming Pool. We wish them the best of luck in their selected events. The day concluded with our annual teacher vs student relay race in which saw teachers reign supreme for another year.

There was a range of colours and outfits as all the students represented their houses well and demonstrated the MESC house spirit. We would like to not only thank all the students who participated and cheered on their fellow house mates but to all staff that contributed to the various roles and responsibilities throughout the day. Without your contributions, the day would not be as successful. We turn our attention to our Athletics carnival which will be occurring on Tuesday 26th of March at school where again we encourage all students to dress up and demonstrate the MESC house spirit to its full capacity.

Thank you.
