FareShare Wrap-Up

From Hugo Tully (Year 12)

With the first FareShare shift completed for the year, the environment group is well underway for 2024. For those who don’t remember FareShare is a not-for-profit organisation, focused on giving meals to those in need and reducing food waste. On Tuesday, seven boys headed out to Morningside to lend a hand for the night. Hugo Tully, Kalen Neville, Jack Lowe, Cyrus Kwok, Matt L’Enfant, Jesse Patel-Brown, and Jake Edye, stayed at the kitchen for three hours, measuring out the food for lamb roast meals. Ending up with an incredible 1576 meals, most of which will be going up to Northern Queensland to help the flood-impacted communities, the boys were very satisfied with their efforts and had a free dinner to go along with it. Still looking to continue our once-a-month routine at FareShare, it would be great to see lots more students sign up for this activity. The only requirement is you be sixteen, so it’s available to most of our Year 11 and 12 students. There is still another shift available before the end of the term and three next terms so get keen. For more information, contact Ms Badini or you can rock up to one of our environment group meetings, tomorrow break 1B in room 801. We appreciate all the support and have a good outlook for the rest of the year.
