Our Thoughts are with the Castleman Family
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Karlie Castleman, the mother of Annie and Zelda (SC1), passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.
Our thoughts are with Sam, Annie and Zelda and their extended family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
We know our school community will join us in keeping the Castleman family in your thoughts and respecting their privacy during this difficult time.
Thank you to our school community for your care, kindness and support.
Grade 3 - 6: BMX Trick Show - This Thursday 15 Oct
This Thursday 15 October, our Grade 3-6 students have a free performance of Scott's BMX Trick Bike Show, presented by Regional Arts Victoria (RAV). The show will be held in the Buninyong gym from 12 - 1 pm and combines BMX stunts, circus skills and storytelling, with a focus on persistence, resilience and creativity. This performance has been generously funded through RAV's YEAH! fundraising campaign, thanks to the support of our community. There is no cost to families.
All Scotsburn students will start the day as normal at Scotsburn on Thursday. Mr Conlan will pick up SC2 from Scotsburn prior to the event about 11:30am and SC2 will attend the event with Mrs Domaschenz. SC2 will stay at Buninyong for the rest of the afternoon with Mrs Domaschenz. Mrs Domaschenz is teaching in SC2 this week while Mr Morgan is on long service leave. SC2 students will need to be picked up from Buninyong with our normal arrangements when we finish the day at Buninyong campus.
Photo Consent: RAV may take photos and videos during the performance for reporting, promotion and future fundraising, including use on their website, social media and in publications. As this is separate from our school's usual photo permissions, we need to collect specific consent for RAV.
A Compass event has been created, and all families are required to respond YES or NO for photography by Wednesday 14 October. All students can attend the incursion regardless of photo consent.
Grade 3/4 Earth Ed Excursion - This Friday October 16
This Friday our Grade 3s and 4s will join Mr Smith and some Buninyong Grade 3/4s on a STEM excursion to Earth Ed at Mount Clear. This will be a wonderful experience for our students! To make it easy for our families, Grade 3s and 4s will start and finish the day as normal at Scotsburn, with Mr Smith picking students up from Scotsburn on the bus just after 9am, and returning them back to Scotsburn before the end of the day. Please don’t forget to pack a normal lunch (no lunch orders), drink bottle and school hat. Thanks Mr Smith - our Grade 3/4s can’t wait.
Breakfast Club is Back - This Wednesday October 14
Our fruit and breakfast supplies will be delivered this week and we are looking forward to starting back our Breakfast club this Wednesday morning.
Prep Pre-Schooler Program
Our Prep preschooler program continues this Wednesday morning and continues for the next 3 weeks. We can’t wait to welcome in our new preps again to take part in this important program, as part of our commitment to providing students and families with a smooth transition into beginning school in 2027.
Disco - this Friday 16th October
HEROES and VILLAINS!
The battle is on! Our school disco is coming, and we’re calling on all our heroes and villains to get dressed up and hit the dance floor! (or casual clothes if dressing up is not your thing)
Get ready for an epic night of music, dancing, costumes and plenty of fun!
Let the disco begin! Tickets can be purchased through Compass.
Prep - Grade 2 Sports Day - next Thursday October 22
For our Grade Prep - 2 students, next Thursday will be our Whole School Sports day at Buninyong! We will be spending the whole day down at the Buninyong Campus, participating in a range of activities on the oval with all of the Prep - Grade 2 Buninyong students. We will have more information in next week’s newsletter and on Compass!

Scotsburn- Virtual Tour (youtube.com)
Scotsburn Intercampus Travel At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day. We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher. |
