Science

This term the Grade 3-6 students will be focusing on Earth Science and working through the unit 'Soils, rocks, minerals and erosion'.  

We have started our lessons learning about what is and is not classified as a rock and how rocks are comprised of minerals. 

For the next fortnight, students will be focusing on the appearance, physical properties and uses of rocks and minerals. 

Focus vocabulary for the next fortnight: 

Aggregate: To gather, collect, or combine things together. 

Mineral: A mineral is a solid, inorganic material that occurs naturally and can be dug out of the ground. 

Rock: Rock is a solid material that occurs naturally in Earth, it is made up of one or more minerals.
