Eco Club: Sponsoring the Tassie Devil

Eco Club held a whole-school vote to decide which animal we should sponsor, and the winning choice was the Tassie Devil!

Eco Club also wanted to make sure everyone knew that we are collecting juice boxes for the Container Deposit Scheme. We need to collect 1,800 juice boxes to raise $180 to sponsor a Tassie Devil, and we think we can do it!

As great problem-solvers, the Eco Club discussed how difficult it can be to communicate in a very noisy world already filled with messages. We decided to write letters to each classroom, put them in beautiful envelopes, and deliver them in the lunch order baskets (the day when the most juice boxes are at school).

The students also decided to take a special collection bin around the school at lunchtime. They collected far more juice boxes than in most previous weeks. Well done, Eco Club!

By collecting and recycling juice boxes, we are helping to reduce waste that could otherwise end up in landfill or the natural environment. Less litter and waste means healthier habitats for animals and plants. Protecting habitats is one of the most important ways we can support biodiversity, including special Australian species like the Tassie Devil. Every juice box collected is a small action that helps create a cleaner environment.
