BAHA Special Subsidy
Time is running out to apply for the 2026 BAHA Special Subsidy. Forms are required to be lodged by Friday 31 July 2026.
Payment
- $1,461 paid directly to the Western Australian College of Agriculture.
- Where students do not board/attend for the full year, payment will be calculated on a pro- rata basis.
- Payment will not be made for a student boarding less than four weeks.
- Applications must be completed annually.
- Personal information collected will only be used for the purpose of managing the Boarding Away from Home Allowance. The Department will not disclose your personal information for any other reason.
Eligibility
- Student must be boarding at the agricultural college.
- Students receiving the standard rate of Youth Allowance can still apply for this allowance.
Ineligibility
Special Subsidy cannot be claimed if receiving:
- Assistance for Isolated Children (AIC) from Services Australia (Centrelink);
- Youth Allowance at the Away Rate from Centrelink; or
- ABSTUDY (if full boarding paid by Centrelink); or
- The applicant is a foster parent (the Department of Communities is responsible for all associated costs).
