Whole school Pyjama Day
A huge thank you to all students, staff and families who participated in our recent Pyjama Day. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved while demonstrating our Brookside values of Respect, Resilience, Rights and Relationships throughout the day. The donations go towards making sure our SWPBS shop is full of new goodies for the students to purchase next term!
Over the next fortnight, our SWPBS focus will be Resilience Beyond Brookside: Seeking Support When Needed.
Resilience is an important life skill that helps us navigate challenges, setbacks and difficult situations. This fortnight, students will be learning that being resilient does not mean handling everything on their own. Instead, resilience includes recognising when support is needed and confidently seeking help from trusted adults, peers or support networks.
Through classroom discussions and learning activities, students will explore strategies for managing challenges, identifying trusted people in their lives and understanding that asking for help is a sign of strength. Whether at school, at home or in the wider community, knowing when and how to seek support is an essential skill for wellbeing and success.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home by discussing who their child can turn to when they need support and celebrating times when they have shown resilience in overcoming challenges.
Together, we can help our students build the confidence and resilience needed to thrive both within and beyond Brookside.
Grade 6 house colours drawing competition
Our Year 6 students have recently taken part in a House Drawing Competition, creating fantastic artwork inspired by our four Houses: Freeman, Irwin, Newton and Stynes. Students demonstrated incredible creativity, effort and school pride through their designs. We are extremely proud of the high standard of entries and look forward to announcing and celebrating our winning artists. Thank you to all students who participated and showcased their talents.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to create a safe, respectful and positive learning environment for all students. We look forward to celebrating the many students who demonstrate our Brookside values throughout the fortnight!
