Senior German Poetry Competition

The Languages Department is very proud to announce that Jitho J. of Year 10 placed first in this year’s Senior German Poetry Competition organised by the University of Melbourne and the DAAD. 

Jitho convincingly recited the contemporary poem “Die zweite Person” by Yoko Tawada in the solo performance category. On Sunday 17 August Jitho received his official certificate and medal at the awards ceremony held at Melbourne University during their Open Day. 

Winning the competition was quite a remarkable achievement, particularly considering that all other finalists were students from private or select entry schools. Congratulations on a great performance!
