REGIONAL STUDENT VOICE CONFERENCE 2025

Oberon High School, in partnership with the Geelong Tech School welcomed 125 students from nine regional Victorian schools for the Regional Student Voice Conference (RSVC) on Tuesday the 16th of September. The RSVC brought together passionate young voices to explore the issues that matter most in regional education — and to shape meaningful, student-led solutions. Student leadership teams from across our school were in attendance and showed their commitment to making a difference not only in their school community, but across the entire network. Students worked in mixed school groups on a variety of issues and were student led, with the focus primarily on providing solutions to the complex challenges young people face. In the afternoon, students ‘pitched’ their ideas back to the larger group, and a panel of local business professionals, State and Federal MPs. It took a lot of courage for students to get up and speak, which is a celebration of the work that has happened here at Oberon around student voice and public speaking. The day was a remarkable success, and it is hoped that it is the catalyst for conversations that will continue to empower the students here at Oberon.
