CULTURAL DAY

This year’s Cultural Day was a vibrant celebration of diversity, unity, and pride within our school community. The event featured a variety of cultural stalls and performances that highlighted the rich traditions, foods, and talents of students from all backgrounds. It was inspiring to see everyone come together to appreciate and learn from each other’s cultures. The day was filled with colour, laughter, and delicious aromas from around the world, creating an atmosphere of joy and connection.
As Dwayne Dongon shared, “My experience on the day was even better than I expected, and the turnout was great. I really enjoyed seeing the wide range of cultures represented at our school and especially getting to try all the different foods. In the weeks leading up to the event, the cultural committee and club held several meetings to plan the setup and coordinated with students and teachers to make sure the event was fun and entertaining. We each contributed by helping each other with ideas and decorations. A few of my fellow Filipino students and I really enjoyed organising our stall. We stayed back after school and used our lunch breaks to prepare our stall and rehearse our performances. On the day, running the stall was quite hectic, but it was rewarding to share Filipino cuisine with others and experience dishes from around the world. It was cool to see our school community come together to celebrate our cultural diversity, and I hope next year’s Culture Day is even more successful.”
Overall, Cultural Day was a wonderful reminder of the power of inclusivity and the beauty of sharing who we are with one another.
