Grandparents & Special Friends Day
Excited faces, sweet embraces, an overflowing car park, and enough scones with jam and cream to sink a ship! Grandparents and Special Friends Day 2026 was a huge success, and we'd like to thank every grandparent and special friend who came to support our students.
It takes a village to raise a child, and this village truly showed up in spades! We saw grandparents crouched in tiny chairs, making and wearing paper crowns, planting plants and being introduced to some high-tech devices.
Proverbs 17:6 says, “Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.”
Seeing the joy of our grandparents and special people, along with the proud faces of our students, was a blessing to witness. We pray for a continued, flourishing partnership between our students, their parents, and their extended family and friends. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Grandparents Day at Bayside was a heartwarming celebration filled with laughter, stories, and shared experiences. Students were thrilled to welcome their grandparents and special friends into the classroom, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere across the campus.
The day began with a variety of engaging activities that encouraged connection and creativity. From craft stations to simple games, students and their guests worked side by side, enjoying quality time together. One of the highlights of the morning was the interview activity, where students asked thoughtful questions and discovered fascinating stories about their grandparents’ lives, childhood memories, and experiences growing up.
These conversations not only strengthened relationships but also gave students a deeper appreciation for the wisdom and history their elders brought. Many were surprised by both the similarities and differences between generations.
The celebration concluded on a delightful note, as everyone gathered to enjoy freshly baked scones served with tea. The relaxed setting allowed for more conversation and laughter, making it a perfect ending to a special day.
Grandparents Day was a meaningful reminder of the importance of connection, respect, and community.
