JMSS Careers Newsletter
Hi All,
It’s been a busy and exciting term for our Year 10 students as they begin exploring work experience opportunities and taking their first steps into the world of work. We are pleased to see so many students taking initiative and engaging with this important opportunity.
For students who have not yet secured a placement, there is still time. We encourage you to continue your search over the holidays. We understand this process can sometimes be challenging, so please remember that support is available. Feel free to visit the Careers area if you need support or ideas. We’re here to help.
To those heading out on placement during the holidays, we hope you have a fantastic experience. This is a valuable chance to learn new skills, build
confidence, and gain real insight into different career pathways—make the most of it!
If you’re still exploring work experience options, consider reaching out to places such as pharmacies, primary schools, dermatology centres, gyms, sporting or entertainment clubs, veterinary clinics, and dental practices. Retail environments like beauty salons can also provide exposure to areas such as laser therapies and cosmetic treatments, which can open doors to careers in science, biomedical science, or dermal science. Pet shops are another great option, often offering hands-on experience with animals and, in some cases, opportunities to observe or assist alongside a veterinarian.
We encourage all students to use the holiday period to explore their interests, seek out opportunities, and take positive steps toward securing a work experience placement.
