JUNIOR School Update

Dear Parents/Carers and Students

Year 7 & Year 8 Update

It has been great to see our Junior School students continue to make the most of advantages within and beyond the classroom throughout the first half of Term 2! Our Junior School students were amazing participants at our whole-school Athletics Carnival, embracing house spirit and competing in events all throughout the day. 

Our Year 7 History students enjoyed an incursion last Thursday 22 May to enrich their experience learning about ancient civilisations. 

We were excited to be able to run our first Year 8 Camp to Rubicon Outdoor School, which was a fantastic and challenging experience that developed students’ resilience, responsibility and empathy in some amazing outdoor environments. Feedback from Rubicon about the engagement and respect of our students was outstanding and we look forward to exploring opportunities for further camps like this in the future. Thank you to Ms Paige Whitworth for her efforts leading the camp, along with the staff who attended: Mr Darin Joyce, Ms Carly Macdonald, Ms Melody Westlake and Ms Emily Johnson. 

A large number of our student leaders were involved with co-facilitating our school tours with members of the Leadership Team and did a great job sharing their perspectives about their time as students of Frankston High School. 

We would like to formally acknowledge and congratulate our Year Level Leaders who have been appointed to represent their respective year levels throughout 2025: 

Year 7: Lucas Suttie, Daya Budiarta, Clare Zhang, Kai Bonney

Year 8: Chantelle Walsh, Enrica Lam, Ariel Cole, Kira Baxter 

Coming up later in the term, students will be working towards their end-of-semester assessments, including the Maths Exam (Thursday 26 June), and we encourage parents/carers to actively monitor Learning Tasks on Compass for information and feedback.
