Captains Corner

Hello everyone, my name is Amaya, I am one of the 2026 female vice school captains, and I am going to be sharing information about a very exciting event.

On Tuesday the 13th October, the Chess Victoria 2026 Inter-school Primary Girls Finals were held at Korowa Anglican Girls’ School and the team consisted of:

• Saheli, Shayana, Jahnavi, Thinuli and me.

Thanks to the support of the whole school community and our hard work, we managed to place 2nd out of 13 schools. We are all very proud of our dedication and commitment towards this chess tournament and all of the tournaments leading up to the final. Placing 2nd in the whole of Victoria is an incredible achievement and something we will remember for the rest of our lives.

We look forward to seeing our school chess teams achieve more awards in the future!

Thank you for your time,

Amaya.
