Welcome back to Term 3!

Welcome back to Term 3! We hope all of our families had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break. We have an exciting term ahead, filled with lots of engaging learning experiences and special events. Students are looking forward to participating in Gymnastics, celebrating Book Week and Science Week, and beginning preparations for our Writer's Festival. We can't wait to see all of the fantastic learning and creativity that this term will bring!

Celebrating NAIDOC Week

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, students explored the rich cultures and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Throughout the week, each class enjoyed reading three beautiful First Nations picture books and completed a range of creative activities inspired by the stories. Students designed colourful bracelets, created origami fish, and made nature-inspired artworks while learning about the importance of culture, storytelling, and our connection to Country.

Meet our new class pets!

Our 1/2 classrooms have welcomed some very special new members – spiny leaf insects! Each class now has two fascinating insects to care for as part of our Science learning. As we investigate living things this term, students will have the opportunity to observe our new pets up close and see their learning come to life.

Our classes had lots of fun choosing names for their new insects:

1A: Chip (male) and Milo (female)

1/2A: Henry (male) and Charlie (female)

2A: Branchysaurus Rex (male) and Twinky (female)

We are looking forward to learning all about these amazing creatures and watching them grow throughout the term!
