VCE Art & Design Show

A feature of the annual Art & Design Show is the bringing together of many creative elements for the opening event.

Year 11 Food Technology students led by Ms Tess Molinda were responsibly for catering. They devised, made and served a delicious selection of offerings. Special thanks to Candice Molnar who assisted in the kitchens to ensure everything was in place for the cook. 

The Parents and Friends' Association provided the refreshments located at the hub of the  exhibition.

Instrumental music students serenaded the guests as they enjoyed the art and made their selections for the 'People's Choice' awards.

Students artists, parents, friends and extended MGSC community were enthustiastic art appreciators.

Year 11 Runner Up - Sienna Newland

Logo and Brand Identity for a new council kiosk located in a park.

Year 11 Overall Winner - Matilda Harmer & Millie Bennett. 

A collaborative mixed media of oil painting and clay. Theme industrialisation slowly destroying natural beauty.

Year 12 Art - Nicole Curry

Mixed media, polymer, air dry clay, sound art, resin. Installation representing parasitic humans as prey.

Year 12 Media - Laura Guevara

Graphic Novel created through IbisPaintX.

Year 12 Visual Communication Design - Julia Buzatu

Environmental design. Submarine Design. Branding and Identity.

Year 12 Overall - Zoe Muscat

Foam, beads, shellac, burnt silk and tights representing glorification of aestheticised pain.

2025 People’s Choice Award - Tess Simmons

Mixed media, textiles and clay. Themes of body dismorphia and honoring the female body.

Thank you to the judges - former student Eleanor Murray and Linda Brown. A highlight was Eleanor sharing her professional journey in the visual display industry and the international clients and events she has worked on.
