On Tuesday 14 October, the Bayside Glen Eira Kingston Local Learning and Education Network held their Applied Learning Awards Ceremony at St Leonard's College.
Alice Earl and Summer Bogdan, two of our VCE Vocational Major students were acknowledged for their effort and academic success within the applied learning program at MGSC.
Both receiving awards for their achievement and dedication throughout the year.

Safira-Rose Garufi-Byrne was nominated for the Work Based Learning Student of the Year within the Bayside, Glen Eira & Kingston region fo her exceptional efforts within their Structured Workplace Learning contributions. Safira was announced as the winner for this award category in 2025.
Safira is our first student at MGSC to engage in a year long Structured Workplace Learning opportunity. She worked one day a week at Oakleigh Manor Aged Care facility and also continued to ensure she caught up on any missed course work. Safira has found a passion within the Aged Care industry, completing her Certificate III in Allied Health through the VDSS VET program in Years 11 and 12. Safira has been accepted into Certificate IV in Allied Health at Holmesglen TAFE to complete her full qualification in Allied Health. Congratulations Safira!
An amazing achievement for each of these students as they continue to pursure their career aspirations and goals after working towards their VCE VM certificate, the first of many at MGSC.
