Education in Faith
This term, our Faith studies have focused on exploring the life of our patron saint, St Francis Xavier, and reflecting on what his journey teaches us about discipleship today.
Did you know?
Early Life: Francis Xavier was born into a wealthy noble family in Spain.
University Days: He traveled to France to study at the famous University of Paris, where he met St Ignatius of Loyola and co-founded the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).
The Great Journey: Driven by his faith, he became one of the greatest missionary travelers in history, journeying to distant lands including India, Malaysia, and Japan to care for communities and share the Gospel.
Through studying his incredible travels and courage, the students have been reflecting on how we can carry on his mission right here in our own school
Literacy and Book Week
Students are continuing to enjoy their novel study of 'Charlotte's Web' this term. We have been learning some exciting vocabulary in our novel the last couple of weeks, such as, 'versatile, monotonous, scamper, murmur, radiant, remarkable'. Test your children out to see if they can use them at home!
Book Fair
Next week, 3/4D will be visiting the Book Fair on Monday 7th September to check out this year's new and exciting titles! During their visit, students will walk through the fair, compile a wish list, and bring it home to share with you.
Book Fair Opening Times & Special Guests:
Before & After School: Open daily each morning before school and again after school.
Book Week Costume Parade: Open immediately following the parade.
Special Guests: Grandparents and Special Friends are warmly invited to visit the Book Fair alongside their SFX family!

Friday 11th September
Inquiry- Storyboard
Students have been drawing and writing their storyboards for Inquiry. These are coming along nicely. The next stage in the project will be gathering items for their characters and settings. Students may be looking for cardboard for their backgrounds - students are encouraged to bring some in if you have some at home.
