SRC Meeting

Last week at our SRC meeting we had some guest presenters from the Secondary 7/8 section to share information about Concord School’s Tiny Forest Project. Eleanor and Lise, staff in Secondary 7/8, have been successful in obtaining a $4000 Bank First grant to make an indigenous sensory garden and outdoor classroom. Staff are working with a landscape gardener.

 Students from Secondary 7/8 shared the design process for the upcoming Tiny Forest, outlined the work that has commenced in the garden and discussed ideas relating to plants that may be added to the Tiny Forest.

The Secondary 7/8 students then led a short tour of the construction site – it’s going to be a fabulous asset to our grounds!

SWPBS

Our students have had an excellent term and should be very proud of all they have achieved. Throughout the term, they have consistently demonstrated our school expectations of Responsibility, Safety, Respect and being a Learner in their classroom and participation in different programs such as the Presentation Ball, the Secondary 7/8 Spectacular, Victorian State School Spectacular, the Showcase, camps and Book Week activities.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, growth and positive attitudes shown by our students this term. Thank you to our families for your ongoing support. We wish everyone a safe and restful break and look forward to another successful term ahead.

R U OK? Day

R U OK? Day is on Thursday 10 September 2026. This year’s theme is, ‘Ask R U OK? Any Day’.

The theme emphasises that every day is the right day to check in with people around you.

By starting this conversation, you can change a life. If the person says they are not okay, you can follow conversation steps to:

• show them they’re supported
• help them find strategies to better manage the load.

If they are okay, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.

Concord School encourages everyone to wear a touch of yellow on Thursday to represent their support of R U OK? Day.
