From the Assistant Principal - Year 9 & 10

Term 3 is always a pivotal time in the academic year—a period where student learning deepens, extracurricular programs thrive, and we start to consider what lies ahead for our students in 2027.  Our students have been consistently demonstrating what it means to be active, dedicated learners.

2027 Year 11 Course Selection

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the families of our current Year 10 students for their support and active engagement throughout our 2027 Year 11 course selection process.

Our team is now hard at work creating the 2027 timetable blockings. Confirmed subject allocations for Year 11 will be released to students in Term 4.

Year 10 2027 Course Selection Evening

We recently hosted our Year 10 2027 Course Selection Information Evening.  It was fantastic to see so many families join us.  Following on from this session, all Year 9 students moving into Year 10 will have an individual course counselling interview on Wednesday 12 August.

Monash Scholars Class of 2026–2028

We were also thrilled to highlight the achievements of our high-performing senior students through the Monash Scholars Program.

This prestigious program provides selected high-achieving students from Years 10–12 with an exclusive opportunity to engage directly with Monash University. Scholars who successfully gain a place at Monash University after completing Year 12 will continue to receive ongoing benefits, including valuable leadership and ambassador opportunities.

Mr. Tuck presented the following students with their official certificates and badges as proud members of the Monash Scholars Class of 2026–2028:

Honouring Excellence

A highlight of our term occurred at our whole-school assembly, where we had the privilege of welcoming Mark Dreyfus KC MP, Federal Member for Isaacs, to present our prestigious Community Awards.

These awards recognise students who have made an outstanding contribution to the life and culture of our school. Each recipient was commended for their commitment to making our school a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging place to learn.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Dreyfus for taking the time to visit, connect with our students, and acknowledge their extraordinary dedication and achievements.

In addition to our Community Awards, Mr. Tuck had the pleasure of presenting awards to deserving students across Years 7–12, acknowledging their hard work, progress, and dedication throughout Semester 1.

Congratulations to all our recipients across the following categories:

• Strive Awards: Presented to students who have demonstrated outstanding effort, application, and a positive attitude in their academic studies.

• Challenge Awards: Recognising students’ perseverance and determination to improve. These recipients were honoured for their exceptional personal growth and mindset.

• Achieve Awards: Awarded to students for outstanding academic excellence across the breadth and depth of the curriculum.
