Principal Post

 Dear Families,

I hope that you all enjoyed your Long Weekend with family and friends admidst the hot weather! Amazing to think that the footy season is already back with us!  Hope your side has begun well  or starts well this weekend!

Thank you for supporting our Closure Day last Friday. The staff participated in a Faith Formation Day facilitated by Fr. Elio Capra. It was an engaging day for our educators, who reflected on what it means for SJV to be a Catholic school in the 21st Century. At the heart of this is continuing to enhance and nurture our welcoming community. I know all our school families will continue to support us in this endevour.

Catholic Education Week

This week marks the beginning of Catholic Education Week. The theme this year across the Melbourne Archdiocese  is ‘Light of Christ’  drawn from the Strategic Plan MACS 2030: Forming Lives to Enrich the World. It is an opportunity for all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne to celebrate their Catholic identity, the pivotal role they play within their local community and the strength of the sector. Here at SJV school we play our role by being a welcoming community, honoring and promoting our Catholic Identity whilst being respectful and learning from other faith traditions.  It is so crucial that we find ways to bring ‘light and hope’ to all within our community. Showing others kindness, respect and welcome brings ‘light and hope’. It is our Christian call and is crucial to building a vibrant community. Thank you for all you do in your various roles.

Sacrament of Reconciliation- Parish Based

We congratulate the students from our school who this Saturday (11am)  will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time.  May they always know and experience God's unconditional love and compassion from their family and school.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN began today for our Year 3 and 5 students with Writing. They wrote a Narrative! We hope that they did their best!

Open Day Tours

Yesterday we held another Open Day Tour. Research would suggest that the best marketing tool for our school is 'our parents'. I encourage you to talk with your kinder friends and neighbours about our wonderful school and to invite them to visit our school in action.

For full list of Open Days please refer to 2024 Open Days Page in this edition.

If these dates do not suit have prospective families ring to make a mutually convenient time.

If you have a child starting school next year (2025) please ensure that  you have
