GARDENING CLUB AND COMPOST

At SJV we are passionate about our environment. Each class has a compost bin which we collect. We will also be starting with some worm farms in term 2 to ensure we are using waste correctly.

The Gardening Club is held once a week and at the moment just grade 1 and 2 attend. They have already planted some vegetables, herbs and also some insect repellent plants to protect the vegetables. This is a very exciting project.

What is a Worm Farm?

A worm farm is like a special home for worms. Worms are tiny creatures that help turn food scraps into awesome plant food called compost. Compost makes plants grow strong and healthy!
