Year 10 Student Mel Gardiner received the 2023 Encouragement Award for Certificate 2 in Automotive 1st year at the HDSC Awards Evening last week. Upon returning home and having the obligatory photos with said award, Mel was approached and offered a Pit Crew position for 3 - 4 meets with the Legend Cars Australia Team for  2024. Mel has accepted the offer and at this stage will be working with, and taught the fast paced, action packed life style of race car mechanics. Mel will be introduced to the race tracks at Winton, Calder and The Bend as a pit crew member. She will learn how to think quick, make judgements and work under high pressure. Congratulations Mel, what an amazing opportunity!
