The Sporting Club Grants Program provides funding for community sport and active recreation organisations across Victoria.

Pony Club Victoria clubs are encouraged to apply for the 2025-26 Sporting Club Grants Program, now open and closing 4pm 7 April 2026. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to support uniforms and equipment, volunteer training, participation events, travel and governance projects.

This is a great opportunity to strengthen your club, support volunteers and grow participation in equestrian sport across Victoria.

Important dates

Applications open: Wednesday 25 February 2026
Applications close: 4 pm Tuesday 7 April 2026
Notification of outcomes: June 2026.

If successful, recipients must complete the project and spend grant funds within 12 months.

About the program

Access to this funding helps grassroots clubs and organisations address barriers in participation, develop safe and sustainable practices and build social and active local communities.

This program assists organisations to:

purchase uniforms and equipment that are essential for participation, first-aid and safety
attract, build the capability and retain a skilled workforce – both volunteer and paid
increase equity, diversity and inclusiveness
implement good governance practices
increase participation of individuals and communities who participate less
create opportunities so Victorians can participate in ways that suit them
build a robust sector that responds to current and changing community needs
support athletes to achieve success in their sport.

Eligibility

Eligible organisations must:

be not-for-profit and non-government
be operating in Victoria
be a legal entity, possessing an Australian Company Number (ACN), Incorporated Association Number (IAN) or an Indigenous Corporation Number (ICN).

Applications are only accepted for community-based organisations that currently deliver sport, active recreation or physical activity.

Funding Categories

In 2025-26, there are 5 funding categories.

Category 1: On-field Uniforms or Equipment

Up to $1,000 to purchase on-field playing uniforms, participation equipment for competitors and active participants, safety, injury prevention and first-aid equipment.

Category 2: Volunteers and Officials

Up to $5,000 for projects that improve the skills and knowledge of volunteers, coaches and/or officials and projects that improve volunteer-retention.

Category 3: Access and Events

Up to $2,500 to host a single-session event for children and young people or adults.

OR

Up to $5,000 to deliver a series of sport session for adult participants.

Category 4: Travel

Up to $750 to help with travel costs for athletes selected for representative competition, selection trials or training camps.

Category 5: Governance and Engagement

Up to $1,500 to strengthen governance practices and ensure long-term sustainability.
