PCV Mounted Games Training Days 2026

Building Skills, Confidence and Team Opportunities
Pony Club Victoria’s Mounted Games Training Days are back for 2026, offering riders the chance to develop their skills, build confidence and prepare for potential Victorian Mounted Games team selection.
These monthly training sessions, held during the first half of the year, are designed to help riders improve their games techniques while learning from some of the best coaches in the sport. All sessions are coached by Victoria’s three State Mounted Games coaches, ensuring participants receive high-quality instruction across a range of games and skill-based activities.
What Are Mounted Games Training Days?
Mounted Games training days focus on developing the skills required for this exciting and fast-paced discipline. Riders will practise a variety of games, techniques and strategies used in competition, while also improving their balance, speed, teamwork and horsemanship.
These sessions provide a supportive environment where riders can challenge themselves, learn new skills and gain valuable experience.
They are also an important part of the pathway for riders aiming to represent Victoria in Mounted Games.
Who Can Attend?
Mounted Games Training Days are open to all current Pony Club Victoria members aged 7 years and over, with riders of all experience levels encouraged to participate.
However, riders must be able to ride independently, including mounting, dismounting and maintaining control of their horse or pony.
Training days are particularly valuable for riders interested in trying out for the Victorian Mounted Games teams, as attendance is required to be eligible for team selection.
Victorian Team Pathway
The Victorian Mounted Games Training Days also form part of the preparation for Victorian State Team selection.
Riders hoping to be considered for the Victorian Junior or Senior Mounted Games teams must attend at least one training day. These teams will go on to compete at the Pony Club Australia National Championships in October 2026.
There will be five training days held across the state prior to team selections, providing riders with multiple opportunities to participate and demonstrate their skills.
