Year 5’s have a program set for the week, including specialist classes, planned curriculum lessons in the classroom and some Naplan practice.

This week in Year 5/6:

English:

We revised the verb suffix -ify. Students read, spell and put words into context.

In structured literacy we continue to read The Silver Donkey and work on our Fables. Most classes are writing the action  paragraph,, using ambitious vocabulary and grammatical features modelled in the text-based unit. We are loving this book in class and building our background knowledge on The First World War and the English Channel.

Maths

Students have been working on tasks using the cartesian plane. We have plotted coordinates and revealed mystery pictures.. Students continue to be set tasks in mathletics for follow-up practice.

Inquiry: Need or Greed
