Term 1 Week 6 Year 2 Newsletter
Dear Year 2 parents & guardians,
Can you believe we have already crossed the halfway mark for our first term of Year 2! We’ve enjoyed a calm, settled and positive start to the year.
What we’ve been up to in Year 2:
- Students are solidifying classroom routines and have transitioned smoothly into the year
- We’ve been busy exploring all things Place Value in Maths
- Revising our Stage 7 Little Learners phonemes (sounds - oral) and graphemes (letters that represent the sounds - written)
- Commenced our writing unit on Recount Writing
- Discussing what family life looks like in our homes and comparing it to what it would have been like in the past, during our grandparents' childhood.
Reminders:
- Bundoora Farm excursion: Wednesday 11th March. Please see Compass for details, permission and payment.
- Hats: Term 1 is a hat term, so please check your child has their hat at school
- Library bags: check your child’s Library day and that they have a library bag to borrow books
- Homework presentations have started
Dates for you diary:
- Monday 9th March – Labour Day
- Wednesday 11th March- Year 2 Bundoora Farm Excursion
- Friday 21st March – Harmony Day
- Thursday 2nd April – Last day, 2:30pm dismissal
