Term 1 Week 6 Year 2 Newsletter

Dear Year 2 parents & guardians,

Can you believe we have already crossed the halfway mark for our first term of Year 2! We’ve enjoyed a calm, settled and positive start to the year.

What we’ve been up to in Year 2:

Students are solidifying classroom routines and have transitioned smoothly into the year
We’ve been busy exploring all things Place Value in Maths
Revising our Stage 7 Little Learners phonemes (sounds - oral) and graphemes (letters that represent the sounds - written)
Commenced our writing unit on Recount Writing
Discussing what family life looks like in our homes and comparing it to what it would have been like in the past, during our grandparents' childhood.

Reminders:

Bundoora Farm excursion: Wednesday 11th March. Please see Compass for details, permission and payment.
Hats: Term 1 is a hat term, so please check your child has their hat at school
Library bags: check your child’s Library day and that they have a library bag to borrow books
Homework presentations have started
