Term 4 Recap
As we reach the end of another busy and rewarding year, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to our graduating Year 12 VCE-VM students on a highly successful 2025. Their Graduation Mass last Thursday evening was a wonderful celebration of their achievements, and all of the VCE-VM staff could not be prouder of their dedication, teamwork, and growth throughout the year.
Earlier in the term, our Year 12 students travelled to Melbourne for an overnight camp focused on homelessness and community service. This experience included an education session with The Big Issue, a city scavenger hunt, and volunteering at St Mary’s House of Welcome, where students prepared and served breakfast for those in need. They also assembled care packages which were donated to the Salvation Army 614 City Program. The trip was eye opening and helped our students gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by many in our society.
Before they finished, our year 12s also held the grand opening of the Parish Garden project at St Patrick's Cathedral. Our students were joined by Jill Wheatland, Deputy Principal - Christine Shaw and Assistant Principal - Felicity Knobel. Fr Ed Moloney blessed the garden in front of around 30 attendees and Year 12 students Lilly Euvrard, Maya Forrester and Tess Tigchelaar spoke to the group about their project, which has been an immense success.
Our Year 11 VCE-VM students have also had a busy term, recently visiting the Ballarat Botanical Gardens to reconnect with our Botanikids friends. The students enjoyed exploring the cottage and learning alongside the children about the plants, wildlife, and natural beauty of the gardens.
Another exciting development this term has been the official opening of our Hunter Café! With the Hunter caravan now retired, our Year 11 students have taken over operations in the new space, serving coffees and hot drinks to staff during recess from Monday to Thursday each week. Watch this space for more exciting additions to our café menu.
As the year draws to a close, we look forward to finishing on a positive note. We are incredibly proud of the growth, determination, and professionalism shown by all of our VCE-VM students throughout 2025.
