Arts in Term 4
As we enter Term 4 staff and students are working towards refining artworks, polishing choreography, learning lines for monologues, editing films, performing plays and rehearsing for music concerts. The level of engagement and joy in both staff and students is wonderful to experience and see. As we near the end of teaching and learning, and assessment and reporting Christmas concerts and meeting the new 2026 cohort during the Year 7 Information Evening, will be soon upon us.

We wish the Year 12 Arts students best of luck as they begin the VCE Examinations. Unit 3/4 Dance and Theatre Studies students have already completed dance performances and monologues for examination. We wish these students, and the Art Creative Practice and VCD students, well in their written exams in November.
VCE Art and Design Exhibition
The Visual Art and Product Design staff teams and our Art Technician Carly Pitts, worked collaboratively with students to create the 2025 Art and Design Exhibition. Artworks consisting of paintings, prints, mixed media were displayed alongside Visual Communication and Design productions of environmental and 2D designs. The Product Designs consisted of environmentally sustainable items, practical sports clothing for women and costumes for performances. The range of design and experimentation with materials was impressive.
Our guest speaker past Loreto student, Caitlin Perry (2003) from Set Square Studio delivered a wonderful speech about her journey from Loreto College to RMIT University to re-thinking her direction and career, and beginning her own business in landscape and interior design. Her comments about one’s journey being unknown and undulating, and always changing direction was thoughtful and inspiring.
As we do each year, we are proud to list the winners of the Art and Design awards presented by staff during the evening of the opening of the Art and Design Exhibition. We congratulate these students on their creative endeavors and hard work.
We also congratulate and thank teaching staff Alex Davison, Rachel Myers, and Tracey Lean for their support and commitment to their students. Thank you to our Art Technician Carly Pitts along with the Marketing Team; Narelle Mulrooney & Jayde Harrington for their ongoing support and creativity! David Barker assisted us this year with photography.
We are currently counting votes for the 2025 People’s Choice Award. Attendees of the Art and Design Exhibition were encouraged to vote for an artwork they enjoyed. We hope to celebrate the award before the end of the year.
