Acting Principal Report

Welcome back to Term 4

The start of Term 4, although busy, has been a very positive one, leaving staff feeling very proud of our students.

Spring Show 2024

The annual Spring Show is always a highlight, showcasing the talented work of our students in Media, Art Creative Practice, Visual Communication and Design and Product Design and Technologies (Wood). All students should feel proud of their work. There were many impressive folios demonstrating not only a significant body of work but the development of student talent over the course of the year. For many of these students, the folios, rather than ATAR scores, play an important part in receiving university offers.

Thank you to the families for attending. I trust you enjoyed the showcase as much as I did, as well as the delicious supper, catered for by Year 11 Food Studies students.

Congratulations to the following significant award winners:

  • Principal's Acquisition Award: Evie Klopfer
  • People's Choice Award: Grant Riman

Farewell to the Class of 2024

Last Friday was the last day of classes for our graduating class of 2024. It was a wonderful day of celebration between teachers and students. The conduct of our Year 12 students was exemplary and we are incredibly proud of them for the respect they have shown towards staff and the school. On Monday we enjoyed a special BBQ breakfast with the Year 12 students and on Monday evening we continued the celebrations with families at the Valedictory Dinner. All students received their graduation certificates and many significant awards were presented, many of which will be re-presented at the Presentation Evening in December.

Congratulations and best wishes to all final year students. Whilst we are sad to see you go, we are immensely proud of all that you have achieved in your 6 years at the College. We wish you well in your coming examinations. We look forward to inviting you back to the College early next year to hear all about your intended pathways.

World Teachers' Day

Today is World Teachers' Day. On behalf of the Norwood Community, I would like to take this opportunity to recognise the outstanding work that our teachers do, each and every day. From the engaging lessons they prepare, through to the late nights marking and the co-curricular program they commit to, we are fortunate to have such dedicated teachers at Norwood. Often, it is later in life when we realise the impact a teacher has had in our lives. It is never too late to say thank-you.
