Eclipse House News

And that’s that! Eclipse boarding house shuts it’s doors for the summer break. Boys venture home to spend valuable time with family. For some it has been for the final time. For others they will return eager and ready.
Before we said a final goodbye to our departing Year Twelves, Eclipse was joined by incoming Anchorage Years Eight and Nine boys for the week. This time was valuable for all boys, as it allowed them to form connections as a whole house. The departing Year Twelves were motivated to cook up a BBQ for the house, putting their steak culinary skills to the test. Along the way they shared stories and advice for the house moving forward. A highlight of the night was seeing new friendships forming and the joy that each individual was bringing to the group. It was an enjoyable week with productive prep time and the house had a positive buzz to it.
2025
In many ways, 2025 has already begun. We have been joined by current Year Nines for the remainder of Term Four. They have brought with them a great attitude and demonstrated kindness to all in the house. They have undergone their transition period and are all settled into their new routines. I encourage all new boys who will be starting their time in Eclipse to continue creating a calm, friendly and welcoming house for all. I wish all the boys the very best.
Goodbye for Now
As the year comes to a close, it also calls time on our time as Head of Eclipse. Carter and I took up the opportunity to lead a house of 28 boys in 2022 and we will be forever grateful for the experience and journey. It has been a whirlwind experience filled with laughter, joy, celebration, sadness, tears and growth. We will look back on our time fondly and we wish the boarding community a smooth transition into a new structure.
Birthdays
Koby Hams, Joe Hawke and Steven Wiech all turned 18 in November with Oliver Murphy joining the birthday crew turning 16. Many happy returns boys.
Eclipse Old Boys
To those departing.
Eclipse House has been a home away from home for many over the years. You have all gone on to many different pathways and left a lasting impact. You are now old boys of Eclipse. You will always be welcome back. You will always be a part of this community.
You will see old boys along the way, make sure to say g ‘day.
I am one of those old boys too.
