Endeavour House News

To Endeavour, I say: Well done! You made it! Celebrate your achievements and keep shining! In 2025, keep leaning in, trust in yourself and never give up!

Orientation

It was wonderful to meet all the new incoming 2025 Endeavour House Years Seven and Eight boarders at our Orientation in Week Six. There was a mix of excitement and some nerves from all the students, but I was so impressed with how our current boarders, both old and young, came together to support the journeys of our new people. Nobody knows boarding better than boarders themselves; they offer insights that other people just simply would not understand. I thank our boarders for being so willing to share their experiences and tips to succeed in boarding. I’m positive this support has helped our new students immensely, as they prepare for the changes ahead.

Pressure Points

The last few weeks has been a bit of a roller coaster, with the girls under the pump to finish the academic year well and grab those last few marks, for their reports. Some students deal with pressure better than others. For those who found the final assessment period challenging, please reflect on how your revision strategies are working for you and look to tweak your practice going forward, to avoid feelings of being overwhelmed. Once all the assessments were over, the house was transformed into bright smiles, laughter, baking, swimming, dancing and simply hanging out with friends. Well done to the girls for bringing the joy to finish off the year.

Birthdays

Our last birthday of the term was celebrated by Caitlin Hooper. Caitlin shared a birthday cake with Poppy Ford who had her birthday in October, better late than never Poppy! Jessica Harries is the last to celebrate her birthday on 31 December.  Happy Birthday Caitlin, Poppy and Jessica.

Thank You

To the girls! Isabel Bailey, Lani Marsh, Matilda Chitty, Poppy Ford, Jessica Harries, Lexie, Kershaw, Alira Savage, Stella Altham, Grace Bailey, Lucy Bailey, Azriel Bin Omar, Elina Caelli, Katelyn Ferry, Anne Fitz Gibbon, Lily Hall, Caitlin, Esteanne Newfield, Fenella O'Neill, Evita Rumble and Mackirra Williams – for being amazing, doing your best, challenging us and making us laugh every single day.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with the following supervising staff this year; Amber Freeman, Paige Boyley, Carter Wight, Saoirse Powell-Casey, Axelle Sommier, Liz Cosh, Lauren Sutherland, Grace Larham, Jade Sandilands, Elly Bond, Peta Spinks, Millie Wisewould and Mia Collins. These women have all cared for the girls in their own individual way and have demonstrated, care, respect, understanding, compassion and above all, professionalism, by upholding their duty of care responsibilities.

A special thank you and farewell to two very special people; Paige Boyley and Mia Wienand, who have been our international gap students this year and have made a massive contribution to our community, not only through prep, but also rec and other activities around Boarding. Particularly in Semester Two, Paige has been a shining light each morning at Endeavour House, greeting the girls with a smile and a warm ‘good morning’ to start the day. All the very best to these wonderful young people on their continued journeys.

To Endeavour families for their ongoing support and communication throughout the year, I trust you are so proud of your girls and the amazing people they are.

The GSG Executive, Pastoral and Academic team, especially Mr Mathew Irving, Mrs Emma Franklin, Mrs Victoria Turnor and Mr Neil Ferreira.

Ms Georgie Mullins for her amazing support of our Yalari scholars.

Finally, thank you to Mr Ashley Keatch, Mr Taylor Colton, Ms Liz Stewart, Mrs Di Franzinelli, Ms Bec Davies and Mrs Liz Cosh who, as always, have been a constant source of motivation, support and encouragement and I thank them very much.

See you all in 2025!
