Carlsruhe Annexe /
Main Campus - Year 4
Year 4 has been incredibly busy and creative in the classroom!
Over the past few weeks, we have been working through the writing process to publish our very first book of the year — Wilam. Students have been carefully planning, drafting, editing, revising and finally publishing their pieces. We are so proud of the effort and dedication they have shown. Please enjoy a small sample of our published writing included below!
We also had our very first excursion for the year — a local history walk around Carlsruhe! Students explored the Yelka Trail and the beautiful Campaspe River, learning about the rich history and geography of our local area. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect our classroom learning with the world around us, and students represented the school beautifully.

Carlsruhe activities have also begun, and there has been plenty of hands-on learning taking place. We enjoyed harvesting fresh rhubarb from the garden and using it to bake delicious rhubarb muffins. Students have been busy planting peas, creating detailed self-portrait artworks, and practising their calligraphy skills — just to name a few of the wonderful experiences on offer. It has been fantastic to see students embracing these opportunities with enthusiasm and pride.

We were also fortunate to have Emily Condon from Sustainability Victoria visit us to help set up our brand new worm farms. Students learned about composting, reducing food waste, worm diets and how worms play an important role in caring for our environment. It was a fantastic, hands-on sustainability experience!

It has been a wonderful and productive start to the term in Year 4, and we look forward to sharing more of our learning with you soon!
