Year 11 - You’re Almost There!

Congratulations to our Year 11 students on completing your final Year 11 examinations. This is a significant milestone, and I hope you are feeling proud of the effort you have put in throughout the year. You have worked hard, navigated the challenges of senior school and taken another important step towards your HSC.

However… don’t put the Year 11 books away just yet! 

When you return in Term 4, there are still two weeks of Year 11 learning and work to complete. It is important that you remain focused, attend your classes and finish Year 11 strongly. Your Year 12 HSC courses will commence at the beginning of Week 3, Term 4.

My HSC Conference  Week 2

A very important event on the Term 4 calendar is our My HSC Conference in Week 2.

Attendance is compulsory for all Year 11 students. The conference forms part of our Life Ready program and is designed to prepare you for the expectations and responsibilities of Year 12 and the HSC.

During the conference, you will receive your High School Certificate Assessment Handbook and we will work through the important rules, procedures and expectations associated with the HSC. This is essential information for every student, so please make sure you attend and listen carefully.

Thinking About Course Changes?

If you are considering making a course change for Year 12, please don't ask the Office staff about dropping courses. Our wonderful office staff are there to help with many things, but course changes need to go through the appropriate process.

As outlined in the information below, course change forms will become available on Thursday when you return to Term 4. These include changes to Mathematics and English levels, moving to Investigating Science and picking up an Extension course. Forms must be completed and returned by Monday of Week 2.

Remember that the priority right now is successfully completing your Year 11 courses. There is also no opportunity to commence a completely new HSC course in Year 12 without having completed the Year 11 component.

Students wishing to reduce their program to 10 units will generally need to wait until the beginning of next year, with medical circumstances considered on a case-by-case basis.

There is plenty to celebrate across Wyndham College at the moment. 

Congratulations to all of our recent writing competition winners. Your creativity, persistence and willingness to share your ideas are wonderful to see.

A big welcome also goes to the students who have recently joined our Student Representative Council (SRC). We look forward to seeing your ideas, energy and student voice contribute to our College community.

Congratulations to our 2027 School Captains on their successful election. Taking on a leadership role is an exciting opportunity and a significant responsibility. I look forward to seeing you grow as leaders and represent our students throughout next year.

There is still plenty to achieve before we officially make the transition into Year 12. Stay focused, attend regularly, complete your work and finish Year 11 well.

Term 4 will bring new challenges, new opportunities and, before you know it, the beginning of your HSC journey.
