Wishing Year 12 Well

As our Year 12 students approach the end of their schooling journey at Wyndham College, I would like to take a moment to celebrate their achievements, growth and the memories they have created along the way.

I appreciate that my time with this year group has been short, but I have been thoroughly impressed with the cohorts, determination, maturity, and desire for success.

I want to extend my gratitude to the SRC led by Angela Gazi for their work on Spirit Week activities. This commenced with our excursion to Luna Park on Friday 18th September. This event provided students with the opportunity to relax, enjoy each other’s company and celebrate the friendships they have built throughout their senior years. I hope that all students who attended had a fantastic time.

Spirit week continues on Monday 21st September with the “anything but a bag” day, I look forward to seeing what wild creations students come up with. Tuesday 22nd will be “dress as a teacher day” and Wednesday 23rd will be “dress as your younger self.” Also on Wednesday 23rd September, Year 12 will participate in Graduation practice. Events for this day commence at 8am in the school gym. It is important that all students attend so they are able to rehearse the formalities of Thursday’s Graduation.

The Wyndham College community look forward to celebrating Graduation for the Class of 2026 on Thursday 24th September. This is an important milestone as students formally mark the completion of their secondary schooling. It is a wonderful opportunity for our College community to recognise the journey each student has taken and to look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.

As we begin our farewells, I would also like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and sincerely thank the teaching and support staff who have worked alongside our Year 12 students throughout their time at Wyndham College. Their commitment, encouragement and belief in our students have played an important role in helping them reach this point. One of the pillars of the Department of Education is to ensure that every student is “known, valued, and cared for.” The stewardship of the teaching staff at Wyndham College absolutely meets and exceed this mantra and I am very grateful for their dedication.

I would also like to acknowledge the families who have supported Year 12 students throughout their schooling. Next week is a celebration of your guidance and care and I hope you take the opportunity to acknowledge the role you have played in making the successes of your child possible.

Finally, to the Year 12 Class of 2026, we wish you every success for your final assessments and examinations, and for the exciting opportunities that await beyond Wyndham. Take pride in what you have achieved, value the friendships and memories you have made, and remember that you will always be part of the Wyndham College community.
