Year 10 EAL Excursion to Melbourne Landmarks: Shrine of Remembrance, National Gallery of Victoria, and Royal Botanic Gardens

On Friday 8th November, our Year 10 EAL students will head out on a special excursion to some of Melbourne’s most iconic cultural landmarks: the Shrine of Remembrance, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the Royal Botanic Gardens. This trip is designed to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Australia’s rich history, diverse art, and natural beauty.

At the Shrine of Remembrance, students will have the opportunity to explore Australia’s military history and reflect on the sacrifices made by service members. We will also visit the National Gallery of Victoria, where students can engage with an incredible variety of artworks that represent both Australian and international art traditions. Finally, we will enjoy a stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens, taking in the peaceful beauty of native plants and landscapes.

We are excited to offer our EAL students this valuable opportunity to connect with Australia’s culture, history, and art. These experiences are invaluable for helping them feel more at home and connected to their surroundings, and we look forward to a meaningful and memorable day.
