Melbourne Cup Celebration and Student Wellbeing Day

Student Wellbeing Day – Fun, laughter and connection!
As part of our commitment to student wellbeing, and in recognition of the Department of Education’s belief that happy, healthy, and engaged children learn best, we are excited to celebrate Student Wellbeing Day this term!
This year, we’re combining two wonderful events: Melbourne Cup Day and Student Wellbeing Day. It promises to be a fun-filled day of colour, connection, and community spirit.
Morning Session: Melbourne Cup Day Celebration (9.15–11.00am)The morning will kick off with our much-loved Fashions on the Field, where students, staff, and parents are encouraged to dress to impress!
Medals will be awarded for:
2 smartly dressed students in each year level (Kinder – Year 6)
2 smartly dressed staff members
2 smartly dressed preschoolers (not attending 4-year-old kinder)
2 smartly dressed parents/carers
2 most interesting outfits – think creative, sustainable, or unique!
Middle Session: Wellbeing Activities (11.30am–1.00pm)Students will participate in a range of activities and games focused on wellbeing and kindness, drawing on UR Strong lessons and principles. Afterward, students will enjoy a pizza lunch and a drink together.
Afternoon Session: Kaboom Sports (2.00–3.30pm)We’re thrilled to welcome back Kaboom Sports! Last year’s event was a huge hit, with students loving the multi-age team activities and the opportunity to have fun, move, and connect.
We’re really looking forward to coming together as a community to celebrate these events and promote the wellbeing of all our students.
If you can assist as a parent volunteer for judging the student and staff categories in Fashions on the Field, please register your interest at the school office.
