👋 SAYING GOODBYE TO SOME OF OUR STUDENTS

As 2026 draws to a close for some of our students, it’s time to tick off a few important tasks as they prepare to move on to the next chapter of their lives.

📚 One of those important tasks is returning all library items.

Students who are leaving Horsham College are required to complete an Exit Form. Before the Library can sign off on the form, all library books, equipment and other borrowed items must be returned or replaced.

🎓 Year 12 students

Year 12 students have been contacted with a list of any outstanding library items currently on their accounts.

If you have received a list, please check your lockers, school bag, classrooms, bedroom at home, and anywhere else your library items might be hiding! 😊

Please return outstanding items to the HCCB Library as soon as possible so your Exit Form can be signed off.

Good luck to all of our students who are heading off to their next adventure!

Talk to your teen about what they're reading — even if it's not something you would choose!

Let them see you reading too. Make time to read alongside each other.

Let your teen choose what interests them. Books aren't the only option! Magazines, comics, graphic novels, eBooks, eAudiobooks and [peer reviewed] journal articles.

⭐ Recommend more than books

Recommend places to read, times of day to read and opportunities to talk about what they're reading.

Most importantly, keep reading enjoyable rather than a chore.

HORSHAM: Kids Writing Workshop with Nicole Kelly

Ballarat children’s author Nicole Kelly is coming to Horsham Library these school holidays — and she’s bringing a world of magic with her!

Nicole will take young readers behind the scenes of her latest novel, Shifters. The piece shows how she created a thrilling story with magic, shapeshifters, Japanese culture and the spirit world.

And after, the young writers and storytellers will take part in a workshop, hosted by Nicole. Throughout this workshop, she will teach children how to take what they see in real-life and create a story from it.

This event is best suited to children aged 8-13. Children aged 13 and under will require parental/guardian supervision.
