Learn what opportunities our students have been taking on

Solo Flyers Afternoon

To support Year 7 2027 students who are the only, or one of a small number of students coming to St Brigid's College from their primary school, we hosted a Solo Flyers afternoon on Monday 7 September. The session provided an opportunity for students to meet others in a similar situation, begin building friendships, and feel more confident about starting secondary school. Students also experienced our new Virtual Reality Lab!

Following the activities, parents and guardians were invited to join us for a shared afternoon tea.

We really enjoyed meeting you all and hope that you enjoyed getting to know the school and your peers ahead of the upcoming transition days later in the year.

Thank you to Mrs McIntyre for providing a wonderful experience for students and families, and to Mrs O’Beirne for providing a yummy afternoon tea.

Commendations

Congratulations to the 70 students who today were recognised for reaching 100 commendation points, and to Joel Dooling, Aditri Bijeesh, Alexander Stewart, Elizamary Joseph, Chloe Sherson, Jonathan Gardiner and Skyla McClure who reached 150 commendation points. A wonderful display of consistent positive behaviour!

RACE STEM - Careers in Agriculture

The RACE STEM Agriculture Program, led by CQUniversity's Agri-tech Education and Extension researchers and facilitated by the Wimmera Southern Mallee LLEN, aims to provide engaging experiences that increase students' understanding, confidence, interest, and motivation for pursuing a pathway to one of the many different careers in the agricultural industry. The program has been successful in connecting students with local agricultural industry through hands-on STEM activities and has seen a significant increase in secondary students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture.

Recently, Year 8 students engaged in innovative digital technologies including thermal cameras, and explored the use of drone technology in agriculture.

Thank you to Mrs Lannen and the Wimmera Southern Mallee LLEN for making the opportunity available to our students.

R U OK Day?

What a wonderful day to come together as a College community! With the sun shining, our students enjoyed a range of activities designed to connect, have fun and celebrate all that is great about being part of our College.

R U OK? Day is an important reminder that looking out for one another starts with connection — taking the time to talk, listen and genuinely check in with those around us.

Today was a beautiful celebration of friendship, belonging and community, and a reminder that a simple “R U OK?” can make a real difference.
