 Division Sports Championships

Last week, our talented Year 5 and 6 students proudly represented St Luke’s at the Division Sports Championships, competing across four exciting sports: Netball, Football, Soccer, and Tee Ball.

Each of our teams demonstrated fantastic skill, sportsmanship, and school spirit throughout the day. While none of our teams progressed to the next level of competition, we are incredibly proud of how every student gave their best and supported one another on and off the field.

It was a day full of energy, teamwork, and fun—and a great opportunity for our students to challenge themselves and make lasting memories.

Well done to all our athletes for representing St Luke’s with pride and enthusiasm!

State Sporting Success for Rhys and Josh!

We’re incredibly proud to share some exciting news about two of our talented St Luke’s students who have excelled in state sports trials.

Rhys Cowen has progressed through the state cricket tryouts and is currently awaiting news about whether he will make it to the final stage. We congratulate Rhys on his fantastic efforts so far and wish him all the best as he waits for the next round.

Josh Nardella also achieved an outstanding result, making it through to the third round of the state soccer trials for the Victorian Under 12 team. Although he didn’t progress to the fourth and final stage, Josh was thrilled and proud to have made it into the top 49 players in the state. With so many talented athletes competing, this is a huge accomplishment and a testament to his hard work and skill.

Josh described the experience as “absolutely amazing.” Both boys have represented St Luke’s with great determination and sportsmanship.

AFLW Carlton Players Visit St Luke’s!

St Luke’s had an exciting lunchtime surprise this week when four players from the AFLW Carlton team visited our school! Breann Harrington, Darcy Vescio, Keeley Sherar and Meg Robertson joined students on the oval for a fun and energetic kick of the footy during lunchtime, bringing plenty of excitement and smiles to the yard.

After the kick to kick session, our Grade 4 to 6 students gathered for a special Q&A with the players. The students asked some fantastic questions ranging from training routines and game day preparation to favourite moments on the field. The players were warm, engaging, and generous with their time, giving thoughtful answers and plenty of encouragement.

It was a memorable day for everyone, and we thank the Carlton AFLW players for inspiring our students with their passion and dedication to the game.

What a great experience for our St Luke’s community!
