Ballam Ballam News
We have been having such a fun Term 3 so far! We welcomed our stick insects at the start of the term which has sent us down the path of looking at livign creatures, what they need to survive and habitats. From this, we have further explored other animals and habitats such as farm animals and domestic animals. The children have enjoyed the responsibility for caring for our stuck insects whcih has included finding fresh leaves and spraying them with water to drink.
We had the most wonderful time with our Melbourne Museum incursion about dinosaurs and fossils. We learnt about how fossils are formed over time and how we can use information from fossils to learn about the diet of dinosaurs such as triceratops ate pine cones, follwed by a rock to help crush up the pointy ends of the pinecone and then pooped out the rocks! It was a wonderful incursion and the children asked wonderful questions and were engaged throughout the event.
